But things are looking up! As Tanja posted recently, Clara's molars have come in, and this weekend (was that what the most recent fever and cranky were about?) one of her canines poked through the gums.
After getting over the worst of her colds Clara started having fun at Kita again! One of the older girls in her group (Cansu) has become Clara's best friend and Kita-mommy. She brings Clara water during the day, and when I come to pick Clara up Cansu usually sees me first and calls to and grabs Clara to show her that her daddy is here! It's very cute, but I hope that Clara doesn't find her too pushy! When we ask Clara who she'll see at Kita she says "Shannnn" which I guess could actually be either Cansu or Schaimaa. When Cansu sees Clara in the morning she yells "Carla!" and runs to the door to take her hand and bring her into the room (I think Cansu is about 20 months old). Reservations about bossiness aside, I'm very glad that Clara is going happily into Kita in the morning with no tears.
Here is Clara feeling better and playing on her Caterpillar:
In my second German class (I did a pair of two week 3hr/day courses) I met a Spanish guy who happens to live in our neighbourhood and has an 8 month old daughter. Since then we've hung out a few times, here are Clara and Lisa with their moms in a cafe, and then Clara monkeying on Tanja the same afternoon:
We recently bought some new laundry baskets, and Clara loves to pick them up and carry them around. I like this shot of her running between them:
Clara wasn't the only one who approved of the new "furniture"
I'll sign off with this last photo, which I really like:
