Our "schrank" has finally arrived! German apartments don't usually have closets, people use armoires instead. The schrank we bought is pretty huge, as you can see below. The way it works is you order it at a furniture store and then several weeks later it is delivered and built in the room it goes in (no way does this will fit through a door!). I still have to do a bit of re-arranging of the inside (you can change where hangers etc go), and then we'll fill it.
As I type this I don't think you're going to be feeling my excitement... The reason I'm so happy about a piece of furniture is that we haven't been able to unpack most of our boxes because we've been using our bookshelves as temporary dressers. So now we get to stop living out of suitcases (and bookshelves) and unpack the rest of the boxes! Huzzah! No more camping!
Ok, admittedly not everyone is as excited about this prospect as I am...
