It's been a busy few months, as you might have guessed from the lack of posts! While Chris and Tanja have been busy with work the kids have kept on growing and developing. Here are some photos from the first really warm spring day in March, when we went to the park. Clara has gotten a lot braver over the winter, and heights don't seem to ever worry her anymore:
Oscar loves the park, and made friends with a little boy his age when we were there (in the last slide photo).
We can't wait to take him to the beach this summer!
Clara indulged me by jumping off this runway over and over again until I finally got a picture without motion blur.
We spend Easter in Stralsund, as we have done each Easter since we moved to Germany. The kids were very excited to see Oma, Oscar told the teachers in the Kita that's who he was going to see at Easter! Here he is on the last day dancing with Oma:
I'm not sure if we heard more words from Oscar because we were with him the full day (instead of being at work), or if he just learned a lot of words from being on vacation. In any case, we heard a whole lot of words for the first time this weekend: sky, dog, bed, bun, broken, pants, "a bun", "a bite", bunny, bread, dance, water, egg, eye, train, and butter (which for some reason he says instead of joghurt!). Also einz, zwei, drei, machen, essen, gib, tella (Nutella!), and setzen.
Our friends from Rostock came to visit, and this time were able to stay overnight at Oma's house, which was a lot of fun! On Saturday it snowed all afternoon, and in the evening the kids colored eggs:
And then Sunday morning was the big hunt! The only problem was that Oscar thought we were going outside to ride in Oma's car, and it took a long time (most of the hunt) to get him out of the parking lot!
But eventually he got the idea!
Even though he was the youngest, he seemed to realize what the point of hunting Easter eggs was quicker than the older kids:
Venla, who's a few months older than Oscar, also quickly worked out the easiest way to find lots of eggs: They're in the basket the big kids keep putting them in!
We took advantage of the surprisingly nice weather to go to the new park at the beach. Sampo and Clara ran ahead of everyone else, and got playing even before they reached the actual playground or beach!
I love this photo, because I think out of four legs only one is touching the ground, and even then just barely:
Looking forward to the summer!!!
