Double Trouble

Sometimes I think the kids are conspiring behind our backs. So that one gets up at 5:45 am and one goes to sleep at 10:30 pm, one takes the night shift of trouble and fussiness and one takes the day shift: grumpily getting up, resisting all requests, etc. Or that one will be sick one week and the other one the next, as happened before, during and after our recent trip to Dresden.

But then again, they are just so sweet together. And it's actually easier to take care of Oscar when Clara is home, too - they play really well together and seem to find each other endlessly entertaining.

Oscar is nine months old now. Time went really fast. He is getting teeth number five, six, and seven. He sits very well and is working hard on sitting up and pulling up to stand. One difference to Clara at this age is that Oscar actually likes being in the sand and doesn't mind it going everywhere. We already spent one nice afternoon at our lake Plötzensee, since it has been very warm and summery here.

Clean Clara:

At the zoo in Dresden, kids could ride electrical cars and motorcycles in a little enclosure, operated by a real "gas" pedal and steering. Clara drove hers straight into the wall (sorry, no documentation). She was shocked, but eventually willing to get back on for some better pictures:

After Clara drove the motorcycle FULL SPEED into the wall, she sat there white-faced and shell shocked, and then said very solemnly: "Motorcycles are very fast"
