What a difference a year makes!

Clara likes to watch videos of herself on youtube, and given that we're having a new baby she's recently been extra interested in seeing old videos of herself. We recently watched this one, and it was kind of amazing to see just how far Clara's language advanced in a single year. Here she is last May:

And here she is now:

We've had a pretty strange weekend so far. When Clara woke up on Saturday she complained that her leg hurt, and asked to be carried to the bathroom. We figured at first that her leg was just asleep from sleeping on it funny, but it persisted, and she was unable to walk all day. She doesn't have any swelling or anything, and it only seems to hurt when she's standing up straight. Clara was in a great mood all day, and got around cheerfully enough by "walking" on her knees, crawling, or scooting, but Tanja and I were a little freaked out.

Searching online there's all kinds of crazy things that can cause this, from a fracture (maybe she fell at kita?) to a virus (she's got a bit of a cough, but usually that virus seems to affect the hip) to things that don't bear thinking about. This morning she still couldn't walk, but as the morning went on she started to stand a bit, then squat, and right before she went to bed she even ran across the room. So we're still kind of freaked out, but at least it seems to be getting better! One worry we have is that she's just learned how to favor the other leg, when she was walking on it today she was limping, and when she stood she had her weight on the other leg. In any case, I think we'll have a trip to the doctor tomorrow afternoon, so please wish Clara luck!

Here are some photos from last weekend. Clara with juice lipstick:
