Transient synovitis

Good news at the doctor this morning! Clara probably just had "transient synovitis", a temporary inflammation of the hip that's not well understood but might be caused by a virus. She was already walking better today (although not perfect), and I just dropped her off at Kita. Clara did really really well at the doctor's office, where they took an ultrasound of her hip to be sure that this was what the problem was. Clara laid still for the doctor and didn't cry at all!

Clara has also suddenly been doing much better with the potty. This weekend Clara didn't wear diapers at home during the day, and she only had one accident! Funny moments were when we were out biking and Clara told us she had to go. Tanja offered that she could go in the bush, but Clara didn't want to. We asked if she could hold it and she said "no", so we told her that then she would just have to go in the diaper. We were sure she did, so we took kind of a long way home. When we got there it turned out that Clara had been able to hold it after all!

Then, last night after Clara was lying in bed she suddenly yelled really loud "ICH MUSS PULLERN! ICH MUSS PULLERN!" (I suspect you can guess what that means...) It's so great that she's able to tell us now!

Just to include a photo, here's Tanja and Clara making healthy soup for supper last night, which no doubt sped Clara's recovery!

So glad she's feeling better! I'm sure the soup helped. I wish we could come visit you again this summer...
