Recent photos

A selection of some of the best photos in a month and a half of (almost) no blogging. Having a ball with Uncle Robert:

This was very cool. Clara called me to come look at the tower she built, and I was surprised not only by how tall it was, but especially by the symmetry in both form and color at the bottom!

Dressing up as a frog queen for Fasching (Mardi Gras).

Family portraits:

Sampo visits! (Unfortunately only for a few hours the night before he flew to Finland. I think Clara finally got to sleep around 10:30pm that night...)

Clara's teacher Katrin has told us that in the last week Clara has started to really assert herself at Kita. She talks and sings, and runs around squealing with her arms in the air. These are all things she has done at home for months, so it's great that she's gained the confidence to be herself when she's in a more public setting. Clara was really sick last weekend (three or four loads of laundry level sick), but other than that she's been mostly healthy and happy these last two months.

That's it for the real post, but I can't help including a few pictures I took while at work. Here is the Institute's Cessna:

A picture I took of myself during a daytime system testing flight:

And a photo from my second night flight:

Having the opportunity to fly low over Berlin at night has been a real treat! In addition to my research data, I took 599 (!) hand-held photos during our last flight, of which the one above is probably the best. It's Berlin's Brandenburg Gate (center) and Reichstag (left). You can click on it for a higher resolution version.

Chester and Louie get the last meow.

Glad to see another post from you guys, and to see that Clara is feeling better now. We loved the video of Chris and Clara singing Happy Birthday on your previous post!

I like how you say "Here is the Institute's Cessna", as if everyone works at an Institute and everyone has access to a Cessna.

You mean they don't? And they don't?
