Haircut!

Clara got her first haircut today, and I can't believe the difference it makes in her looks! But before we get to that...

Clara is almost 84cm tall now, and in addition to height gains, her concentration span has increased enormously! She can play on her own for ten or fifteen minutes, tells stories, and makes up her own games. For example, I found this totem pole in the hallway the other day, I guess she must have several penguins as spirit ancestors?

We recently got more furniture from Tanja's parents, and just who's been loving and using it the most...

The above photo was taken on a weekend morning before we went to the zoo. Look how big the baby hippos have gotten!

Then, several hours later we got home and saw:

Clara really loves the birthday presents she got last month. Top billing for sure goes to the "Jungle Babies" book/puzzle, which she plays with multiple times every single day! Clara also really loves the Legos that here Uncle Robert and Aunt Nadine gave her. She's become fascinated with construction cranes, and yells and points when she sees them, so now she's always building cranes with her Lego. Finally, while at first she didn't seem to react much to the drum set her Opa gave her, she's starting to get into it. In the last few days she's taken it off of its stand several times and sat down to bang them. I love the way she sits to play the drums!

Ok, now we get to the haircut. First, here's a photo from a week or so ago:

And here's with Oma immediately post haircut. Left side:

Right side:

We had it cut at the exclusive "Chez Tatjana" Salon in Moabit. It made me really sad to have it cut, but the length was really starting to bother her, and it seems like she likes it so far!

We just bought a DSLR camera on ebay (canon eos 400d with the standard canon kit 18-55mm lens), and I'm REALLY hoping that it gets here before Christmas! If it does make it in time you can expect lots and lots and lots of Christmas photos, hopefully none of which were taken with a flash!

Ha, thanks! =) It was a spur of the moment thing... but I guess pretty lucky. I think it looks good too, but SO different from before.
