Clara has been back at Kita for a few weeks now, and she is doing much better there than before the break. It is just obvious how much she has grown up in the last half a year. Now, she usually runs in happily without even another look or word for her Daddy. She is often greeted by her friend Cansu (and this morning Clara even gave her a big hug). Clara is much more outgoing at Kita, a big change (according to her teacher) from the quiet, shy little girl of the Spring who often felt overwhelmed by all the other kids. She plays happily all day now, and has even started talking there (apparently, despite the chattiness at home, Clara never said anything at Kita before a couple of weeks ago). The best thing about Kita for Clara though, are the BIRTHDAY PARTIES! Parties are happening now as all the kids in Clara's group are turning 2 over the next few months - and Clara really really likes to talk about it, and to practice singing the birthday song. The awesomest thing for me is that she will actually tell us things about Kita from time to time now (like when she told us that one of her friends' mom had another baby).

And finally, a video of Clara counting to ten! She can say all the numbers in order (except for eight, I think, which she always skips for some reason) - we think that's pretty amazing. Obviously she doesn't have some of the other prerequisites for real counting, but saying the numbers and pointing at fingers or other objects is a fun game right now!

Sweet Clara! Jacob still talks about Clara, and Berlin. And when I say, "can you say thank you in German?" he still says "thank you in German".
