Shortly after we were back from our Christmas trip a surprise package of goodies from my parents arrived. I think Clara is really looking forward to more of Grandma's ginger snaps when we go back to Alberta later this month!
Last weekend we had a visit from Monica, my officemate from grad school. We had a lot of fun catching up, and Clara had a lot of fun with Monica's hat!
Right after Monica left we got another surprise package, this one from Yehuda and Olivia in Philadelphia! Clara was really excited about the new bath toys they sent, when we sprayed her with them she shrieked with laughter!
Here are two new videos. Before you watch the first one try to guess what it's going to be about...
In the video below Clara just wanders around. I don't think it would be particularly interesting to people who don't know her, but regular readers and anyone who hasn't seen her in a week or two will be amazed at how well she walks now. If you watch really closely at the end of the video when she walks towards me you might see a brief look on her face when she loses her balance for a moment. Be sure to click on the "watch in high quality" link at the bottom right of the videos.

Wow, she really is walking well now! We had just the tiniest bit of snow this morning in Philly--Jamie and I saw little flakes floating down at 6 am while we were up feeding Gavin.
Yes, she is walking well! We especially enjoy the comments she makes to camera and the fact that it's just fine to walk right up to the camera and almost kiss it, all with a huge smile. And it's great that she can chase the cats so fast now that she can walk so well.
Also, it's great to keep in touch with our Philly friends with babies by reading both their blogs and the comments that each set makes on the others' posts. Other friends who were paying attention may have noticed that we have just read the latest instalment of Baby Evanini, and then the latest of Clara's Blog, which you can track from the comments we left... Keep it up, guys!
it would be so fun to watch clara and jacob play together. what is berlin like over the summer?
Nancy - yeah that would be so much fun, seeing them together! I think Clara could relate a lot better to Jacob now (although she still has to learn the idea of "sharing"). I always say Berlin is "less hot than Philly" - which seems to do the trick. ;) But really it is quite nice here in the summer. And the city is awesome. And we have a guest room.
