7 years old

Clara is seven years old. But only on paper, in our heads, we can't believe that seven years have gone by!

Clara is having two parties this year. She'll have a party with friends in two weekends, and I'm sure we'll post some photos from it, because it's going to be exciting. The first party (with family) was this weekend:

She let Oscar help open one present! Clara got a camera, and without us ever talking about it, about the third photo she took was a selfie. We'll have to post a selection of her work sometime soon.

Clara was invited to a birthday party on Halloween. The kids went trick-or-treating at the shops in Prenzlauer Berg, and her friend's parents were nice enough to invite Oscar to come too (for the trick-or-treating, not the party). Here are their costumes:

The kids had a GREAT time. It was the first time they'd ever been trick-or-treating, and it took them a while to get the hang of it. Oscar was particularly adorable, often chatting with the shopkeepers (as you might expect), and constantly half a block behind the girls who were sprinting in and out of stores.

Here are some videos of the kids from a few weeks ago at a German "climbing forest":

This is a long (5 minute) video that I took of me playing "trains" with Oscar. I took it because I loved the way he was doing the announcements, and switching between English and German while he played.
