We're lucky that our kids really like each other. They like to play together, they're really happy to see each other, and they miss each other when they're apart. There are a lot of fights, too, mostly over sharing toys or (currently) over sharing Mommy (Clara: "Let's give Oscar to some other Mommy"). But most of the time they really get along. At Kita Clara gets to go to Oscar's part every afternoon for the last half hour or so, and when she's not there (because of her swimming class), Oscar misses her.

At breakfast, Oscar is as always the first one to finish eating (demolishing two or more portions in as many minutes). He usually goes to play. A couple of days ago this happened: After a while of playing he comes back and notices Clara not eating, just sitting around. He goes to her and orders her away: "Wash!", pulling her shirt. When Clara obliges and leaves for the bathroom, Oscar uses his chance to quickly climb on her chair, saying "Eating!" When he realizes, her spoon in hand, that her bowl is empty and there are no leftovers this morning, he is very disappointed. At least he gets to drink her "Milk!", though. He doesn't want any new food, eating Clara's leftovers is what he enjoys. =)

It's late Spring and it's harder to sleep in Berlin. The kids have converted to their summer schedule - falling asleep after nine o'clock each day. Clara sometimes is up even till ten or later. Sometimes when it's taking a while for Oscar to fall asleep and Chris and I are tired of singing to the kids (or have something else to do before our own bedtime), Clara has started singing him to sleep. The first night she said as Chris was leaving and Oscar was calling for me: "Let's pretend I'm Mommy and I'll sing you some songs!" She then proceeded first to sing some songs that Oscar usually requests of me, and then she just made up her own songs: "Sleep tight, little Oscar! Love you so! Hmm hmmm hmm..."
