Bye bye curls!

Oscar got a haircut. I really loved his soft curls, but the long hair started to look a little shaggy sometimes, so I thought it was time for his first haircut.

Oscar did really well at the hairdresser's. I had luckily picked an afternoon when he was a little calmer than usual, and I came prepared with lots of salt sticks. In addition, Oscar found the big mirrors and other customers getting haircuts very interesting - so he stayed patient almost through to the very end.

I like the new look - he looks like such a blond little rascal!

From earlier, some pictures of the fun going on in our house in the mornings and afternoons:

It's winter in Berlin, and the weather is mostly cold and quite often rainy now. In addition, it's just dark all the time this time of the year. Even before four in the afternoon it will start to get darker now, especially when it's cloudy. This means that we haven't been able to play outside much anymore. During the workweek it's already dark when we're on our way home, and even on the weekends we almost never get to go outside.

So the kids are doing a lot more climbing, running, jumping, wrestling, etc. in the house! Thank goodness our apartment is big enough for a lot of action.

The haircut has changed Oscar's look...but he is still so-o-o cute!! What fun the two of them have during the dark Berlin winter.
