On the first weekend that they were here we headed to the kids great-grandmother's surprise birthday party. The kids were sleepy on the train on the way there:
But woke up and had tremendous fun once we were there!
Clara was so played out that she fell asleep on her Tante Heike before dinner and slept until the next morning!
We had a few days of good weather, so we were able to spend one day at lake Plötzensee, which is very close to our house (we walked there). Oscar does great at the lake, and is even able to take naps there, so it's really possible to spend the entire day.
We also made an excursion to Britzer Garten (see photos from last summer), which both kids enjoyed:
Clara is spinning REALLY FAST in the photo above. She loves "spinny rides". I braved the dizziness for a moment and hopped on one to take this photo at the "Große Spielplatz" by our house:
We also found time for a trip to Potsdam. Unfortunately the weather didn't co-operate, but we still had fun!
Clara was loving the chance to ride in Oscar's stroller - she only got to because she had already walked very far that day.
My Mom sent me all of these photos when she got back to Camera, they were taken with her camera (that's why there's no pictures of her!). Here is one she took of Oscar practicing his standing:
He's really stable now, able to stand for several seconds without support (and starting to take a few tentative steps). We'll post more about walking (and talking) after we catch up on photos from our trip to Finland.
