Today Oscar is exactly six months old! He had his six month checkup this morning, and now weighs 7.87 kg (17.4 lb) and is 67 cm long (26.4 inches), both of which are very close to 50th percentile on our CDC chart. Oscar's newest tricks are grabbing and playing with his feet, and rolling rolling rolling rolling... He can roll from tummy to back in both directions, but he prefers one direction to the other, so when you lay him down he usually ends up rolling that direction until he hits an obstacle.
Oscar likes bananas a lot, and eats a bit every day now. He's done ok with a few other starter foods, too, but he REALLY didn't like mashed carrots. He still doesn't sit, so feeding him is a bit of a hassle. I'm really looking forward to when we'll be able to give him bits of vegetables and bread to gnaw on in his high chair while we're eating. That will make dinner times a lot more relaxed!
Last weekend we had a short visit from some friends of Tanja's that now live in Sweden. They have two children that are each a bit younger than ours. Here is Oscar playing with their Klara:
Letting four kids loose in a bedroom for two hours results in a massive increase in entropy. You need to click on the image to fully appreciate it...
Luckily for us, Tanja's Mom is visiting for a few days, and Clara's room is back in ship shape!
