Big steps for both kids

This weekend we went to visit Clara and Oscar's Oma in Stralsund. While we were there we went to the big "Hansedom" swimming pool. For the first time Clara swam alone in the deep water with water wings on! Right away she learned by herself how to kick her legs underwater to make herself spin, and she also experimented a bit with leaning forward and backward. She's still a bit afraid of getting her head wet, so she hasn't learned to float yet. At certain times the deep pool becomes a wave pool, and Tanja took Clara out in the deep water waves for the first time, too! We still spent most of our time in the kiddy pool, though. Here is Clara covering the holes of a snake fountain:

Oscar loves the water, and can't wait to go again! Last week we signed both kids up for swimming classes (starting in April), so we're all looking forward to that!

Today, Oscar finally seems to have mastered rolling onto his tummy (click for video). He's also been trying really hard to crawl, but he still needs to work on getting the chest up too (he can already lift his bum sky-high!). When he's laying on his tummy he is able to turn to face different directions (although it's still kind of random), and today he did a kind of sideways crawl, which unfortunately ended up moving him away from his toy rather than towards it! Oscar has also sat upright (supporting himself with his hands on his ankles) for up to 15 seconds at a time. Most of the time, though, he flops over immediately.

While we were in Stralsund I recorded Clara singing two songs that she made up, "Oh Berlin" and "We are walking to the car". I don't have a good way to host it at the moment, so if you want to hear it just send me an email.
