Baby has an Aua

Tonight when I was putting Clara to bed and asking her which song I should sing she asked for the song where the "baby has an Aua (ouwie)". I racked my brain trying to think of what it was - my first guess was "Castle on a Cloud" from "Les Miserables", which I sing to Clara when she is crying. I guessed it in the end, and for the music fans out there I'll leave you until the end of the post to try to guess the song.

These photos were all taken by Clara's Opa when he visited last weekend. He took Clara to the Tierpark, the second zoo in Berlin that we very rarely visit. It is on a huge parcel of land, and the animals are on big plots very far apart from each other. So Clara walked and walked and walked on her own for about four hours! Her increased strength, endurance, and attention span make it easier and more pleasant to go places with her now.

Guess the song yet? Hints: it's by a Canadian, and the first word is "Maybe", but until today I always thought it was "Baby".

Here are two photos from our trip last weekend to Werbellinsee, a lake about an hour outside of Berlin. Clara had a great time in the water, even though it's still not too warm. She was constantly in the water until she was shivering and/or had blue lips, then she came out, warmed up, ate something and was straight back into the water!

That's it for photos for this post! We just finished up an action-packed weekend in which we visited about six playgrounds, met with two of Clara's young friends (Jan and Colin), and went swimming at the pool. Thanks to the excitement, Clara fell asleep tonight at about 8:30pm. I don't think she's been asleep that early in months!

So the song was "Coming back to you", which starts "Maybe I'm still hurting // I can't turn the other cheek". Until I looked up the lyrics a few minutes ago I thought it was (and have always sung) "baby I'm still hurting", which Clara apparently understood as "the baby has an Aua". It's always funny to see how she interprets things that she isn't old enough to understand yet! The other thing that I occasionally notice in songs is that she occasionally replaces the rhyming word with an incorrect word that has the same meaning but that doesn't rhyme.
