sorry for not updating. We're in Philadelphia and still really busy. I'm preparing my defense talk (for next Monday) and Chris is going to work every day. Except today, he's picking up the kitties. Wow, we can't wait to see them, although Clara probably won't remember...
Anyway, some pictures from the summer by way of an apology:
Clara walking in the sand on the island Ruegen! Clara LOVES walking. By now she can do it holding on to just one hand. No interest in crawling at all (she doesn't even get her belly off the ground), but I think she will walk before she's a year old...
Toothless smile... Those days are gone, but oh well. We're getting a new car seat (trying to use the cheaper US dollar while we're here), and Clara has teeth by now!
Here's one tooth (on the bottom). For the longest time, Clara had only one tooth. But then, in a short time period three more came in, so she now has 4 teeth, with which she can crunch raw carrots or really anything.

Sleep well, little one! We're quite amazed at how well Clara has been doing with the vagabond's lifestyle we've had in the last while. I think for the last 3 months at least we haven't been in one place for longer than two weeks at a time. Even the plane ride was no problem: 200 people's attention! Running up and down the aisle! Sleeping on mommy! --- Throughout all the moves and travels, Clara is always cheerful, sleeping well, being very friendly to friends and strangers, and generally a very sweet, happy kid.
