Am I a Mad Cow?

Even though Clara was born a little early and had a little trouble with sucking at first, from her first day all she's eaten is her mommy's milk. Sometimes I marvel at the fact that every single atom in her body came from me. Fortunately, I could pump enough milk in the first couple of weeks to feed her only breast milk by bottle - no need for formula. In fact, I'm pumping so much that I have to throw the precious liquid away (otherwise our freezer would now be full of breast milk). So I contacted the Mother's Milk Bank of Ohio in order to donate my milk. They distribute breast milk to premature and sick babies (by doctor's prescription). But it's really too sad: they can't take my milk! Why? Because I lived in Europe for more than 5 years between 1980 and 1996, and that rules me out because of Mad Cow Disease.

Anyway, Clara is eating fine from the breast now - and don't I look happy?
