Uncle Scott and Auntie Sue came to visit in September, and Clara and Oscar had a great time with them.

Looking back at our videos, I realized that Oscar was only just walking back then, and that's hard to believe now that he's such a pro!

We had great weather this fall, I think it may have even been warmer than the year Tanja and I were married. The leaves are still just coming off the trees now. That meant that the kids got to spend lots of time on the playground. We even had one day at the end of the season that was still warm enough for playing in the public fountains:

Unfortunately, now that we've had the time change, there isn't much sun time left after Tanja picks the kids up from the Kita. Clara is really looking forward to snow, though, so I guess we have to live with the darker, colder days to get there.

Oscar is very social, and he's starting to talk, which is very exciting! It's still a little confusing, as "mama" and "ma ma" mean "Tanja" and "more more" respectively, and he still uses his favorite word "Ahbay" or "Ah-be" a lot. Sometimes that means "up high", as in "put me up high", but he uses it for a lot of other things, too. The latest very sweet ones are "alle", German for "all gone", and "night night". He also likes to go where he's not supposed to, shake a finger at us and say "Nein! Nein!". He says both "bye bye" and "tschüs", but he's switched from English to German in his pronunciation of "ball". Even still, so far it seems like he's pretty close to 50-50.
One of Oscar's very favorite games is mixing "food" up in a cup, and then feeding us. I've tried to get a video, but it never really works. Luckily I got a picture of him serving Tanja:

Our "Baby Einstein":

My hair curled out like that when I was little, although you can't see it so well in these old photos:
One advantage of having an "international" family is that you get lots of extra holidays. Here is Canadian Thanksgiving:

After that delicious meal, we're all looking forward to American Thanksgiving, and shortly thereafter our first trip to a Weihnachtsmarkt for Glühwein!
Clara had a great birthday, but you're going to have to wait to see the photos from her party. For now, here are Clara and Tanja preparing the invitations:

A few last photos below, Clara as a champ, and the real reason we needed to buy a bunk bed:
