Baking for Christmas

It's cold outside! And so when we're not outside playing in the snow, we do a lot of baking.

Clara made "Kuchen" (a sweet bread with raisins) with her Grandma twice already.

It tastes very good!

Nikolaus came to Canada earlier in the month (albeit a day late). He brought some nuts and oranges and candies, and a book for Clara.

There are some other good books here, too. Clara especially loves one called "Out on the ice in the middle of the bay" about a little girl who goes out on the ice and snuggles up with a polar bear baby.

The kids all decorated gingerbread houses.

Oscar has developed a lot, too. He can sit up for a few seconds, and he's getting better at grabbing and holding toys. Today, he even rolled over from tummy to back several times by himself (although then I think he got scared of it because he bumped his head on the floor every time).

Wait, more baking! We also made German Christmas cookies (Mürbeteigplätzchen), and Clara helped cut the cookies and decorate them.
