We spent New Year's in Stralsund (to avoid the firework insanity of Berlin), and Clara had a lot of fun! On the way there on the train:
On New Year's Eve:
And in the snow that we got on New Year's Day:
Luckily for me, my new camera came right before we left, and I had a lot of fun over the break playing with it. I really like that I can adjust the exposure time, I've played with that a lot. With the full moon we had on New Year's Eve I took nighttime pictures that looked like the day! You can see the blue sky on this photo of someone's personal New Year's fireworks:
The other really great feature is that you can take three full quality images per second, which will be great for capturing Clara (and, I hope, the cats) at play. Then you can choose the best one of the set, or make an animated gif!
I made the animation using ImageMagick: convert -delay 30 -loop 0 *jpg animated.gif
Oh how my daughter loves bread and jam! The cup and plate were her Christmas present from Tanja and me.

mmmm bread and jam and toddler... delicious! Kevin and I liked the animation loop, and the nerdiness has been noted.
Why is there no bread like those hard German rolls here?
Oh yeah don't you just want to kiss the jam off those cheeks...
These rolls we actually bought frozen in a bag and then baked in our own oven - so they're not only crunchy and doughy, but also fresh and warm! =) Can't imagine how I dealt with 5 years without access to European bread.
