Here are some pictures of us going for a walk.
We applied for Clara's passport a while ago, but her photo got rejected! Even though it was taken by the post office (that's where the passport office is located here), it still wasn't accepted. And when we went to have them retake the picture, the new pictures came out even worse! (Maybe we can show one here soon.) The ladies at that office have a crappy machine that they just don't know how to use. AND they apparently can't figure out the rules, either! (How hard can it be to remember that the head has to be at least an inch high?) Anyway, we resolved to try it ourselves, and we're using the online service epassportphoto to crop the picture in the right size and print it. We'll see if it works. Anyway this is the photo we took - we think it's just right for a passport: Deer-in-the-headlights-look.

What nationality is Clara, anyway? Can she really be simultaneously German _and_ Canadian _and_ American?

Yup, that's what she is.
She's just gorgeous...
How could that be rejected?
Kickass! And can she keep all three, too? Like, forever?
Yup, three nationalities for as long as she lives (although she has to do something to "confirm" her Canadian citizenship before she's 25 or so). I'm not sure how many or which of them she'll be able to hand down to her kids... that's an interesting problem I think! But she definitely has 3.
On my niece's first passport picture she was asleep! The (UK) Passport Agency weren't bothered: in their blind following of the rules, they didn't care, just as long as there was a picture of a baby there.
